Empowering Primary Care Physicians

Primary care practitioners are often the first point of contact for patients suffering from persistent joint swelling, chronic fatigue, or unexplained systemic symptoms. RSG focuses heavily on equipping general practitioners and internal medicine residents with updated diagnostic criteria:

• Early Recognition Protocols: Training clinicians to differentiate between routine mechanical joint pain and destructive inflammatory conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis or Spondyloarthritis.
• Standardized Laboratory Interpretation: Educating staff on appropriate ordering and interpretation of autoimmune biomarkers, such as ANA, Rheumatoid Factor, and anti-CCP antibodies.
• Judicious Steroid Use: Guidance on safe short-term symptom management while arranging prompt specialist referrals to avoid long-term steroid toxicity.

Strengthening Regional Collaboration

Through regional clinical symposiums and collaborative research initiatives, RSG fosters knowledge exchange between local specialists and international rheumatology bodies. Elevating clinical standards across Ghana ensures patients receive accurate, evidence-based care closer to home.
